Welcome, amateur musicians & lyricists!
Hello and welcome to the Amateur Music Scene. So, what’s it all about? Well, let me start by briefly telling you a bit about myself, and maybe you can relate. Making music has always been a fun, satisfying pastime for me since I was a kid. Over the years I’ve dedicated myself to learning guitar, keyboard, bass, songwriting, and just enough sequencing and sound engineering skills to be able to create a half decent production. I’ve written a lot of music, and most people who have heard it have given positive feedback.
But due to the extreme competitiveness of the music industry, getting recognized and making money is hard. I commend anyone who tries, although personally I don’t have what it takes and I know it. It has slowly dawned on me that my strengths lie only in writing music, and I’m ok with that. It will always be the case that most musicians and lyricists, despite their efforts, won’t find success. Most who try will remain unknown and won’t make a living out of it, many will get frustrated, disappointed, and ultimately disillusioned, and sadly quit their hobby altogether, and it shouldn’t be that way.
I believe that all musicians should have a chance at being heard. So, if you’re not making money from your music, or if the only people who have heard of you are your relatives or friends, and whether you’re trying to make it, or if you’re like me and you don’t have what it takes, or you just find it hard, but you still want at least some recognition, then let’s do something about it.

Imagine a community just for us amateur musicians. A music scene of our own, completely unrelated to the conventional music industry. A place where success is measured simply by how much people like to hear your music or read your lyrics. An environment where you can share your hobby, showcase your songs, and have the satisfaction of being acknowledged by musicians or lyricists just like yourself, and getting feedback and encouragement. It’s as easy as that.

Our community will be a forum for amateur musicians and songwriters like yourself, which I am currently working on. Here, you will be able to showcase your work by posting links to your recordings, or posting your lyrics. Other members will be able to listen to and enjoy your efforts, and you can critique each others’ music and lyrics. You will be able to see how you compare to other members, and help, inspire and give advice to each other. Overall it will be a very satisfying outlet for us all.
